Benjamin was shocked by what he had just heard.

How could Hazel consent to a divorce, he wondered? That isn't feasible!

"What are you up to this time?" Benjamin questioned Hazel as his initial response.

Hazel questioned, "Am I that kind of person in your eyes?" She had lost all sense of her feelings about this.

Benjamin thought that her decision to file for divorce was just another one of her ruses, even though she had made that decision.

"Yes," Benjamin said without hesitation. He didn't even need to consider it.

Hazel grinned and nodded. She was chuckling at how terribly pathetic she had become.

Hazel turned around and handed Benjamin the divorce documents she had long since prepared. "I've already written the divorce agreement," she declared.
