Kian's POV:

My body, my mind; everything was tired. I had not just been working extra hours but have also been divorced from the idea of sleep for some time now. My mind kept wandering off and thinking of the rogue attack.

Sometimes I would spend whole minutes, separated from reality, staring into the emptiness of space, while my head would replay the incident of that day over and over and over.

—"Kian. Kian. Kian. What! Are you even listening to me?" A voice drew me out of the inside of my head once again, and it was none other than Beta William. We were having a meeting. Or supposed to be having one, before I got lost in one of my sidetracking once again.

"Uh—what were you saying?" I said to him. The tiredness of my soul and body leaked through my eyes, and so one could easily tell, just by looking at my face that I was not just stressed out, but beyond stressed.
