Chapter Thirty-Four – Carrier of Bad News

Aiden's POV

It was night, I set up camp in a secluded spot, seeking solace in the cool breeze and wonderful embrace of nature. Little did I know that an unexpected encounter with a stranger would disturb my peace. And he'll be the carrier of bad news.

Sitting by the crackling fire and eating the deer I hunted, a stranger approached, drawn to the warmth and light.

"Mind if I join you?" the old man asked, a friendly smile on his face. "Urrrgh, It's been a while since I had a good conversation." He uttered.

I gestured for him to take a seat, and he sat next to me helping himself with the grilled meat like we were some close friends. He didn't seem to recognize me.

Though if they do they'll think it's Jayden. Almost all the pack address me as him until they see my response. I usually nodded at them with a straight face or answered formally, in the contrast of Jayden who answered they were friendly and always with a smile. My curiosity piqued as the man's friendly demeanour. I don't get
