"Chewing gum in class is prohibited Gwen." Mr. Boyd's tone is rough as he glares at Gwen from across the room. "You better swallow it or throw it in the trash." His eyes narrowed, daring her to argue.

Gwen's confused eyes turn to me as she chews the gum obnoxiously. "What does prohibited mean? Oh don't look at me like that, you know my brain hasn't updated to that level yet."

I shook my head, biting my lip to not laugh at her expense. " It means banned, forbidden, not accepted-

"Okay enough genius I got it." She rolls her eyes.

My shoulder lift in a shrug. "You asked, I answered."

"Gwen." Mr. Boyd growls, impatience seeming to twirl itself in his voice.

Gwen snapped her head to face Mr. Boyd and sends him an apologetic smile. "The gum now." Giving her a pointed look that warned her of the pending trouble she would be in, Mr. Boyd pointed at his thin mouth.
