SHE DIDN’T see me right away but I did. My wolf and my senses were so attuned to Katriona’s presence that I would spot her from miles away. She looked like she had a lot in her mind as she stopped after taking a few steps away from the prison.

And then I saw it, that brief moment when she let the old Katriona take over her.

She closed her eyes, unclenched her hands, inhaled, and exhaled.

Good thing I threatened all the reporters earlier. When they heard the news that Katriona was here, they flocked outside like bees, itching for a scoop and photographs.

The Aldanas were a hot topic everywhere in the city right now. It was like they had been hiding near this place. Just a few minutes after Katriona headed inside, the reporters rushed in only to run away after seeing me and my pack.

Right now, the area outside was devoid of people.
