53. Temptation

For David, tonight's events were invaluable luck. Won't come twice.

There was silence in the soundproof room they were in. David's two aides slowly let go of their hands holding Reina's hand on a faint hand gesture instruction. David still hadn't said anything since Reina's last frustrated roar.

Actually David thought that Reina was just making up stories. But realizing the disappointment and pain in the look in the eyes of the woman in front of him, David became convinced that Reina was telling the truth.

"Why are you still silent? Kill me now, quickly! What are you waiting for?!" Reina's voice was getting softer. Trembling amidst her rising emotions.

David extended both hands, instructing Reina to calm down. "Wait a minute, don't get too emotional. What I said just now... I realized I had crossed the line."

Reina said nothing, but still looked at David through her tear-stained eyes. While his breathing remained unstable, however, he tried to calm himself down.
