71. Seed of Doubt

Sabrina's expression shifted from amusement to suspicion as she processed David's words. She took a step back, her eyes narrowing as her guard went up once again. Doubt crept into her mind, fueling her uncertainty about David's true intentions.

"What did you do?" she demanded, her voice laced with a mixture of caution and accusation.

David's laughter echoed in the room, his amusement seemingly unaffected by her sudden change in demeanor. He leaned back in his chair, his eyes gleaming with a mischievous twinkle.

"Oh, Sabrina, you really are a cautious one, aren't you?" he remarked, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "Even if I had slipped something into your food, which I assure you, I did not, it would be far too late for you to notice. The food was already in your mouth."
