The second we walked into Riley's and Jax's bedroom I began talking. I needed to get my head in the game. I knew I lost them as being mine, but we were all still alive. That had to matter more than the pit in my stomach.

More than anything, I wanted this all to be over so I could hold my daughter. I felt so at odds about her. I knew I loved her and would protect her against anything, but I didn't even know what she looked liked.

It was weird to feel so incredibly devoted to someone you never met. More than anything I wanted to met her, hold her little body in my arms. She would probably be swaddled in a pink blanket. I was positive she would have her mother's smile too.
