Chapter 50: Regret

It is already midnight and yet there is no sign of the woman who gave me the letter under the bowl of food.

It said that I should not sleep but the moon is calling my consciousness. I yawn as I look outside the cell. The guards who are looking out for me are already sleeping, still holding their spears. There were two of them and they were sleeping on each other's shoulders while sitting on the wooden chair. They had masks on their faces and they were wearing armor.

I sigh, I think I should take a nap even just a little minute but when I am beginning to close my eyes and imagine something that could help me sleep, I heard the rattled sound of the keys. I look at the woman who seems in a hurry.

She looked around and she dropped the keys but she quickly picked it up as she tried to open the cell again. I stood and walked near the cell door to greet her but I stopped when I saw one of the guards move.

Oh God! This woman's action is making me nervous.
