Chapter 20. Forgetting Her Overnight

"What do you mean, Shada?" Ruth could not believe her own sense of hearing. Especially when the woman in front of her accused Ruth of being a vampire. She looked at Shada nervously, searching her mind for a justification.

"Oh, come on. You must know what I mean. Are you really a vampire?" repeated Shada in a half-whisper. Shada fully studied Ruth's face.

Ruth shook her head firmly. "How do you know about vampires? I'm not a vampire." Ruth quickly denied. Demian must have told her. Ruth's mind immediately guessed.

"I met one. Don't lie to me. I don't like dishonesty." Shada's eyes were sharp. She showed how serious she was.

Ruth sighed. She closed her eyes tightly, to the point that her pale forehead showed very clear frown lines.

"Well, okay. That's right, you're not wrong," she admitted as she raised both hands in surrender. Ruth then leaned forward slightly and looked at Shada earnestly.

"Keep this matter a secret from anyone, Shada. I mean it." Ruth's hand reached out to take Shada
