Alpha Doyle
I saw a look quickly flitter across Lena’s face, passing far too quickly for me to decipher. She looked away from me, and shrugging it off, I made my way out of the room with Sean hot on my heels. Sean and I went upstairs to my office and sat at my desk. A few minutes later Sean let out a light laugh and said, “She is a little pistol, that one, I will give her that.”
“Yeah, she is. But I don’t know what to make of it,” I replied.
“What do you mean?” he asked, looking at me and waiting for me to explain.
“Well, my daughters swear they said nothing. I didn’t tell anyone, and I doubt you did either. So how did they know of Lena being our new Luna,” I asked, meeting his gaze.
“Wait, you think Lena told them herself?” he asked, looking at me surprised by what I had just suggested.
“She was a rogue when she came here. Maybe she had a few rogue friends she conveniently never told us about,” I replied.
“Connor, you ca
Storm The next morning, I awoke to find Alpha Doyle laying on the other side of the bed. He had his head resting on the pillows he had piled up behind him, and he was just watching me. It was a little unnerving. As I lay there, everything from the previous day came back to me, and I found myself remembering how miserable I had been feeling the night before when he had walked out of the room without a word, and my heart ached once again. The feelings I had been feeling at the dinner table suddenly hit me full force once more. I don’t know how long Alpha Doyle had been laying there watching me for, but I felt unnerved and vulnerable under the intensity of his gaze. Plus, the way he had treated me yesterday only served to remind me of how my father used to treat my mother. Fate really was one cruel bitch! Climbing off the bed, I made my way into the adjoining bathroom. Shifting back into my human form, I wrapped a towel around myself before closing and locking t
Alpha Doyle The moment I had awoken and saw Lena sleeping at the end of the bed still in her wolf form, I couldn’t help but smile. Her wolf sure was a pretty one! I had no idea how long I had been watching her for when she woke up. As soon as she saw me watching her, she tensed up and watched me for a moment before she made her way into the bathroom, which adjoined the bedroom. She was in there for a while. She had a shower, and then she came out dressed for the day, and without a word she left the bedroom. Laying there I thought about her actions. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but she just didn’t seem to be herself at the moment. By the time I had gotten downstairs to have breakfast, the girls were already gone. I had no idea where they had gone, and with everything that had happened the day and night before, I was honestly worried about them. When I expressed my concerns to Sean, he wasn’t worried. He was convinced that the girls were going to be fine. We
Storm Storm We all took one look at the look on Alpha Doyle’s face, and seeing the anger, which was evident there, the four of us wasted no time running out of the room and heading for the stairs. I ran upstairs to the spare bedroom and shifted back into my human form. Making my way into the bathroom I took a shower and got cleaned up. Once I was done, I made my way out of the bathroom and saw that the mud which I had left on the door and floor when I had come upstairs earlier had already been cleaned up. I felt bad that I had left a mess that someone else had had to clean up. But in all honesty, the girls and I had meant no harm. We had only been having fun. But still, the mess we had made had been disgraceful. I was sitting on my bed after my shower, dressed in a pair of yoga pants and an oversized hoodie. I was stressed out, sitting there worrying about what was going to happen next. Was Alpha Doyle still angry over the mess we had made of his home? Were t
Storm I didn’t know what to think about this whole situation. Thinking about what could happen when I got back downstairs had my stomach churning. My throat and chest felt tight. And I was gripping the pillow to my chest so that the girls couldn’t see that my hands were shaking. The girls seemed sure that Alpha Doyle was going to be fine. But how could they be so sure? Alphas were unpredictable by nature. I could feel my anxiety increasing the more I thought about the whole situation. We stayed in my room for a while chilling out. I was okay with the girls being in my room with me, well… that was until Leah announced that we should all go downstairs. I wasn’t to keen on that idea. But I reluctantly followed them downstairs, not wanting to have to answer any awkward questions. When we stepped out of my bedroom, I saw the mess in the hallway from earlier had also been tidied up, and once again I felt bad for the cleaning staff. I was even more surprised to see th
Storm I tried to take a deep breath to calm myself down, but my lungs were so tight that I couldn’t get a lungful of air. My heart was beating so fast that I felt like I had tachycardia. Tachycardia is a condition I had recently been learning about in class. It is a medical condition where the heart beats too fast, and in doing so may not pump enough blood to the rest of the body. This can starve the organs and tissues of oxygen and can cause symptoms such as: shortness of breath, light headedness, rapid pulse rate, heart palpitations, chest pain, and even fainting. As I stood there, I decided that being Alpha Doyle’s mate was bad for my health. Turning in the doorway, I bolted out the door and raced down the hallway. I needed to get out of this house. I needed to get out of this territory. “Lena!” I heard Alpha Doyle shout as he followed me down the hallway. I ran down the stairs and I could see the front door, I reached my hand out towards the door,
Alpha Doyle Sean and I had been sitting with the cleaning staff in the kitchen, and I had been talking to them for a while now, trying to appease them. They had been upset about the mess that had been created earlier by the four muddy wolves that had practically destroyed the house. I had talked with them extensively before caving and giving in to their terroristic demands, much to Sean’s amusement. The cleaning staff had claimed compensation for pain and suffering, well that is how they had put it. Personally, I had thought it was absurd. Pain and suffering? Really? Sean had had a tough time hiding his laughter as he had listened to the cleaning staff pleading their case. By the time we were done, I had decided that Lena and my girls had a lot to answer for. They had cost me dearly. The cleaning staff had seen the perfect opportunity to hold me to ransom and they had taken it. And I had to admit, now that it was all said and done, it amused me how they had not
Alpha Doyle Without another word, I made my way up the stairs and into my office, locking the door behind me as soon as I entered, ensuring that Lena didn’t do another runner. Walking over to the lounge chair, I dropped Lena onto it, then stood and waited until I had myself under control. As I stood before her, I watched as Lena shrank back into the lounge chair, pushing herself as far back as she could go. A moment later she brought her knees up and rested her folded arms on them. I felt my chest tighten, as I saw that she was visibly shaking and on the verge of tears. As I watched her, I found myself wondering what had happened to her to make her so afraid. She had been afraid of me from day one. The moment she had realised we were mates; she had been terrified enough to run for her life. The knowledge that she was afraid of me, and that she didn’t trust me, didn’t sit well with me. By now the mate bond should have grown enough for her to trust me. I knew it was hypocritic
Alpha Doyle I closed the door and went back to where Lena was sitting. She was still sitting there and not saying a word. “Lena, you need to talk to me love. I need to know what is going on. I need you to trust me and tell me what happened. Who did this to you?” I asked. When she didn’t say anything, I could feel myself getting frustrated. Alphas weren’t used to being ignored. Even though she was our fated mate, my wolf was getting annoyed with her silence. We were used to getting an answer whenever we asked questions. My wolf was fighting to take control so that he could assert his dominance, and I was having a hard time holding him wolf back. As if she could pick up on my wolf fighting to make an appearance, Lena looked up, her eyes meeting mine. I watched as all of the colour drained out of her face, and she shrank back away from me. I fought my wolf, pushing him to the back recesses of my mind, and I walked towards Lena, wanting to reassure her that she had nothi
