LAURA

I was still surprised to see Steve, handing a flower over to me. This was surprising, and what was more surprising was the fact that he was asking me to marry him.

“Steve?” I called his name, in a low tone.

I couldn’t believe this was real. I couldn’t even tell if I was hallucinating or dreaming, but then I pinched myself.

“Ouch. That was painful.” I said to myself.

Just after I snapped out of my self-dialogue, Dennis walked in, looking baffled as it was certain that he didn’t know what was going on. I looked back at Steve, and he was still on his knees.

“Laura, will you marry me?” He asked again.

How would he ask me if I would marry him? Didn’t the think that I could say no to this? Hell, this was a bit annoying, and unprepared for. I decided to decline, and reject him, but then on a second thought, I decided to take the ring.
