Why the f*ck couldn’t I sleep? I haven’t been sleeping very well these days so I moved to the kids’ room, hoping it would but it was rather haunting.

‘They can’t take care of kids! What does the council think they’re doing?’

Melora groaned. ‘Kat, you’re straight-up annoying me. I’m trying to sleep for the goddess’s sake!’

‘This is why I miss Carissa. She listens to me. All you do is complain and judge.’

‘You do the same, Kat.’

Arguing wouldn’t fix my sleeping problem. ‘Fine then. Go to sleep, that’s all you’re good for.’

Melora locked me out and I scoffed at her childish behavior. But to be honest, I was the one behaving childishly. The kids would be okay, I shouldn’t be so worked up. If I was sleeping, I wouldn’t be worrying about this.
