SWEET VANILLA

IAN

My nose tingled in arousal. Not because of the smoke I inhaled from my cigarette, but because of the sweet, nutty smell of vanilla that I couldn’t resist. I couldn’t move on until I found where that lustrous scent was coming from.

My wolf, Bolt, howled in pleasure as I walked closer to the stream. Vibrations came from the very spot I kept my eyes on and the smell grew stronger.

“Sir, is something wrong?” The leader of the Sigmas asked, keeping his attention stance.

I didn’t reply but bent down to the water and put my hand inside. I stretched it in, about to reach for something when I heard a loud squeal rise from the pack.

A wolf ran toward us with all the excitement and energy in the world.

“Oh, My Goddess! I can’t believe it! It’s really you!” Her squealing was ear-deafening. “I’m Kendra, the Gamma’s daughter.” She flipped her cinnamon brown hair as her golden eyes flickered in delight.

I withdrew my hand from the stream and walked up to her. Her heart leaped in joy but I kept my stern countenance still.

She couldn’t be sixteen yet but her beauty was evident. Her long brown hair fell from her shoulders and she had the sexy curves I always searched for in my concubines. She didn’t seem like a low-level wolf because her aura was noticeable.

Her golden eyes complimented the short yellow dress she wore. I could bet that her cherry lips were nectar sweet and soft. Ace wanted to taste them. I was a bit disappointed that she wasn’t who I’d be taking home.

“Good, I’m here for Selene. The Gamma’s mate.”

Kendra exclaimed and fanned herself with her hands. “Of course, I would be happy to take you to her!”

“No, Kendra.”

A woman appeared.

She was an older version of Kendra. She had long wavy brown hair and her golden almond-shaped eyes were easy to notice. She was imp-thin and wasp-waisted. Her fingernails were varnished and she had pouting lips. A long silver dress fell down her body, coupled with an eye-blinding amount of silver jewelry.

“I’ll take him myself,” she said.

“Selene?” I asked, eyeing her from head to toe.

I wouldn’t mind getting on her if she gave me the chance.

“Yes. Kendra inform your sister to meet me in the Gamma's office, we have visitors.”

I couldn’t pick their scents because of the heavy amount of perfume they had on them.

Kendra pouted, turning to her mother. “But I’d like to come.”

“Get your sister first, Kendra,” she said in a tone that was softer than her words. Selene returned her gaze to me.

“This way, Ian.”

I followed her as she asked but winked at Kendra before I was too far away. Her knees went weak and she couldn’t stop squealing. My charms always worked and I might just be back for this one.

KATRINA

My stomach churned. I heard every single word they said. They were looking for me? Since mother was involved, I knew nothing good could come from it. I was reluctant to get out of the water because Kendra would see me but I couldn’t stay underwater for more than five minutes.

I gasped as I popped my head out, breathing in air. I looked around but couldn’t find Kendra anywhere.

“Thank goodness,” I uttered in relief.

I was glad they took Ian away. I was surprised that I didn’t recognize him at first. He was one of the famous Alpha Triplets. Everyone loved the Alpha Triplets because they were every girl’s dream. I didn’t know much about them but I had seen their pictures and they were to die for.

But they had a bad reputation for s*x, gambling, drinking, drugs, murder, and many other unspeakable things so I wasn’t on their fan list.

I swam towards land and searched for my clothes but I couldn’t find them. I panicked when I saw Kendra walking towards me, with my clothes in one hand and a keg of petrol in the other.

“Kendra! What are you doing with my clothes?!”

I fumed in anger and all I wanted to do was break her in two.

She giggled, dropping my clothes like they were filth.

“You mean these? They aren’t even worthy to be called rags. Just like yourself.”

“Don’t do this, Kendra!”

“Or what?” She spat on my clothes, giving me the ‘do your worst’ look.

“Oh wait, you can’t do anything 'cause you’re naked!”

She laughed and it made me want to hide my face in shame.

“Give me my clothes right now, Kendra!”

“How dare you?” She snapped at me.

“You worthless thing have no right to scream at me or even say my name.” She opened the keg of petrol and spilled the liquid all over my clothes.

I shook my head in fear. “No, don’t do it!”

Her cunning laugh filled my ears as she dropped a lighted matchstick on them. They caught fire and before I could stop screaming, they burnt to ashes. The only thing I got back from them was the toxic smoke that filled the once fresh air.

I wanted to burst into tears but I couldn’t give her that satisfaction.

“When you’re ready to come out, meet mother in dad’s office. Toodles!”

She grinned and left the scene.

“Kendra! Kendra!! Why?!”

She ignored my cries and left me in my dilemma. My heart sank and I felt like drowning myself in the stream, never to be seen again. The thought of that crossed my mind many times and I almost did it but I remembered dad.

I couldn’t let all his efforts on me go to waste. And I wouldn’t let Kendra succeed in getting rid of me. I wouldn’t let the pack laugh at my dead body so I held on and looked around for a solution.

But in the end, I swore to the goddess that I would make them pay for all they've ever done to me.

I took the long way around the pack because luckily, the packhouse was at the edge of the border. I sneaked in when no one was looking and locked myself in my room.

When I got onto my bed, I let the tears I had been holding pour down my eyes as I wondered why life had been so unfair to me. There were countless things they had done and this wasn’t even the worst. I looked by my bed and saw a neatly folded white dress.

I picked it up and found a note tag on it which said, ‘WEAR IT YOU BITCH!’

"F*ck you."

I was to go to dad’s office and I would be better off if I was early. I put the dress on and admired myself in the mirror.

It was short and it barely covered my a*s but it brought out the curves I never knew I had. I had an hourglass shape and a wasp-waist like mother. My hips were broad and my glossy skin shined in the mirror like gold.

My flat tummy arched out my breasts and my beautiful legs topped it off. The problem was my gaunt eyes. I never got enough sleep.

It was hard to stop admiring myself because I had never seen a prettier version of myself.

I left my room and went to dad’s office. I felt a bit proud as I walked past the other wolves but they would just burst out laughing or shooting sad glances. They always did that but the vibe they gave this time was different.

I entered and saw everybody. Dad was there, mum as well, and Kendra. So as our special visitor… Ian. Mum had an evil smile on while Kendra looked a bit disappointed. Dad was deliberately avoiding eye contact with me and Ian locked his sky blue eyes with mine.

Everyone was quiet and the air suddenly became chilly.

“What’s going on?” I asked stepping in.

It was then I realized that his sigmas were by the door, behind me.

“Can someone please explain? Dad!” He looked away.

I was having a bad feeling about this.

“How do you like her?” My mother asked, eating off my confused innocent look with contentment.

Ian walked up to me but I moved back, almost stumbling on the sigmas.

He held my chin and forced me to look him in the eye.

He sniffed my neck and I tried pushing him away but he didn’t even shake.

“I love her scent. She’s better than I imagined.”

Reality dawned on me at that very moment. I was being sold.
