Edna clutches the wristwatch in a fist in her left hand and walks directly to Malik's office. It's in the same building, but on a different floor. Malik returns to his apartment just a few minutes after eleven, almost midnight. He did promise Ramona that he would come back home early but work has been hectic. He had taken it upon himself to work more to let Edna head back home earlier than usual.
