Chapter 49: She Will Take Care of My Son

It was already late. People were putting on their lights. All the streetlights had been turned on. Alex wondered where Dede could be. He exited the living room and in a few minutes was outside the building. He walked up to the security man at the gate.

"Hey," he greeted.

"Have you seen Dede?" Alex asked.

"No, please. I haven't seen her," replied the security man.

"Since she left this place in the morning, has she returned?" Alex asked.

"No," replied the security man.

"Fuck!" Alex cursed.

He recalled the state in which Dede left the hospital. She looked lost. It registered on his mind she may have wandered off after the driver dropped her. He walked through the gate and walked down the pavement heading for the junction. At the junction, the pedestrian walkway goes both ways. Now the question was which one did Dede use? She didn't even have a phone to be called.

"Hmmm," Alex growled.

How can he go back to the hospital and report he couldn't find Dede? It would be the second time she h
