Alex was outside the hospital premises when he saw Dede run out of the hospital. From her body language, he could tell she was crying but he ignored her and rather called Foster. "Hello Foster, are you at home?" Alex asked. "Yeah, what's up?" Foster asked. "I am at the hospital close to your apartment. Dede is here. She is alone and broken, come pick her up quickly before my boss comes looking for her," Alex said. "I can't bring her to my home?" Foster replied. "Idiot, who is saying anything about taking her to your home? Take her to that cheap motel down the street and sleep with her. Hurry," Alex said. "Okay, but you go stop your boss while I get her out of the place," Foster said and Alex agreed. He got out of the car and kept his gaze on Dede. She walked away from the hospital entrance and sat on a provided seat outside hugging herself. Alex opened his phone camera, zoomed in on her and took a picture which he sent to Foster. He then walked towards the hospital to buy Foster
Outside the motel room, Alex held Dede roughly by her arms as he dragged her out of the motel towards their packed car. "I knew sooner or later, you would reveal your true character," he murmured almost like he was talking to himself but Dede heard him as she walked with her head lowered and her tears flowed down her face like a fountain. Once they got to the parked car, Alex opened the door to the back seat and pushed her into the back seat. Dede raised her leg to place her feet inside the car so could sit but with the way Alex pushed her unexpectedly, she missed her step and fell into the back with her legs hanging outside. "So much for the love you claim to have for my boss," Alex said like he was the one Dede had offended. Dede pushed herself up from the car back seat floor and sat on the seat holding on to the blanket. She had no clothes underneath and didn't have her shoes on either. "Your marriage is just forty-eight hours and you already jumped into another man's bed. You
Dede tried to speak but it was sobbing that came out of her mouth and Bryson shut his eyes. The sound of her tears got to his heart and he felt terrible inside. He had a feeling of betrayal yet he couldn't hate her for it. "Dede, the crying will not change anything. It would not change the fact that you were with another man just forty-eight hours into our marriage. Tell me what happened," he said and he opened his eyes to look at her.Dede swallowed her tears and tried to talk. "I ... I was ... sitting outside," she stammered and tried to recall how it all happened and what she could remember."He came," she said not looking at him."We talked and he..." she paused. "He already knew everything," she continued. "he mentioned a gossip at the office," she chipped in and Bryson stood up and pushed the flower pot sitting on the small table to the floor breaking it.Dede jumped out of her skin and her attention went to the broken flower pot. Bryson sat down on the small table that was us
"I am not going to do anything. You disgust me right now," Bryson said and exited the room leaving Dede alone. He decided to spend the night in one of the guest rooms. Alex decided to send a message to Melissa. He lay on his bed as he typed away. He read through and sent the message to Melissa. In the hospital, Melissa was just sitting on the bed with a neck collar lying next to her and a drip stand with a drip hanging on it next to her. She has a cannula fixed at the back of her hand. "So he didn't even come to see me. How did I offend him?" Melissa complained. "Yes," Rebecca acknowledged in silence."Mum, what is wrong with you?" You have been timid since you walked in and even Mrs Adams didn't come to see me," Melissa questioned. "Brace yourself for the news I am about to share with you," Rebecca said and Melissa furrowed her brow."Bryson married the African girl," Rebecca announced."What!" Melissa exclaimed and got down from the bed. "When? Why? How?" she asked all at the s
"Sir, the doctor is here," the servant announced."Bring her in," Bryson said and wrapped Dede in a towel. He found some clothes in the closet and quickly dressed her before inviting the doctor in. She opened her bag, brought out her tools and examined her. After the examination, she brought out some medication and injected her with it. "We need to take her to the hospital. I have only given her something to prevent the situation from getting worse. What did she eat?" the doctor asked. "Nothing she had not eaten before. What is wrong with her?" Bryson asked. "An extreme allergic reaction. It appears she had been vomiting for hours. Her pulse is very weak," the doctor informed Bryson. "I will get the ambulance to come over," she said. "That will take time," Bryson said and walked towards Dede. He carried her and headed for the door. The doctor quickly packed her stuff and followed Bryson. Outside, Alex saw Bryson walking out the front with Dede in his arms. He wondered what wa
"What happened?" Brian asked seeing the smiles vanish from Melissa's face but she ignored him and continued to talk to Alex on the phone."How did it happen?" Melissa asked and Alex ended the call.Melissa tried calling back but received a quick text which read; Can't speak now, please text. Her fingers started typing away as she kept pacing up and down in the living room with Brian's gaze following her with a frown. An incoming message notification popped up on Melissa's phone before she could finish typing her message. She quickly opened it and read the details of how everything happened. She didn't care much about Foster. he was just her bed warmer since Bryson was bent on holding on to his no-sex-in-a-relationship rule but she also knew how petty Foster can be. If she abandons him, she fears he might reveal secrets to Bryson and that was something she didn't want."What happened? Do you still need Julia?" Brian asked."Nothing important but I will still need Julia," Melissa said pu
"Has he woken up since he was brought in," Melissa asked."Yes. I am sure he slept again not long ago," the doctor said and Foster opened his eyes. His whole head was bandaged leaving his eyes, nose and lips. There were shadows around his eyes and his nose had changed colour indicating injuries. He stared at the doctor and his gaze shifted to Melissa. He stared at her briefly and looked away."Foster," Melissa called out to him but he didn't respond to his name and Melissa felt he was just mad at her."It's me," Melissa said and Foster turned to look at her briefly and looked away again."What is happening to him?" Melissa asked wondering if Foster was just ignoring her."Well, I was hoping since you said you two are best friends, your presence would trigger something," the doctor began and Melissa frowned waiting to hear what the doctor would say next. "It looks like he can't remember anything including his name or who he is," he added."What!" Melissa exclaimed with a worried expre
"Do you want me to talk to my husband about it? You know he will believe me?" Dede said confidently hoping it would scare Alex into confessing. "So that is your motive? To have the boss wrapped around your finger. And you think you have achieved that?" Alex said when he picked a reflection on a mirror-like lining on the wall alerting him Bryson was behind the door. "What?" Dede said surprised by his statement. "I knew it was a matter of time and your true self will reveal itself," Alex said knowing Bryson might be listening. "What are you talking about?" Dede asked staring at Alex with a confused expression. "I am talking about your schemes. The guy from the hotel is your lover right?" Alex sneered. "Enough," came Bryson's voice drawing Dede's attention to the door opening. Bryson strode in and Dede flinched. Images of her and Foster flashed through her memory causing her heart to race and she suddenly felt dizzy. "Get out, Alex," Bryson said coldly and Alex exited the room sat
