The sterile hospital room feels suffocating as we enter. The beeping of machines fills the air, reminding us of the fragility of life. My heart pounds in my chest as I approach the bed where my father lies, surrounded by an entanglement of wires and monitors. Abigail stands by my side, her presence offering a sense of stability amidst the chaos.
