Chapter 29: A New Morning

The soft light of dawn began to filter into the hospital room, casting a gentle glow over the space. Maya stirred from her deep sleep, her body feeling heavy with exhaustion. As she slowly awakened, her eyes remained closed, instinctively searching for James's presence beside her. However, her hands only met an empty bed.
