CECELIA
Mike and Lance had been on their way to train with Zach and I when apparently Mike had heard a voice in his head. Not that any of us doubting him, considering I went blind and fucking levitated, it was unexpected but also not surprising. It was a bit of a revelation that it was older Gods than we thought at play, and that all of this was coming about because some asshole God didn’t get the girl and was throwing a temper tantrum. I knew Red River was to blame for the initial attack, but now I wondered if this God hadn’t influenced or increased the bloodlust of Zach and Mike’s father. Zach had come up with that theory, and Mike quickly agreed. They both said in the months before the attack he had grown increasingly agitated, and when he announced they would attack it was out of the blue, and unprovoked. So even though he was aggressive already, the random attack plans and increased agitation he displayed
Several weeks laterWe had all but mastered our powers with the help of some assistance by our respective Gods. Gaea was the Earth goddess, she assisted me in mastering the wind, healing the Earth and command of all things natural. Things like flowering plants, healing the barren soil, all were within my powers. The wind was also under my command, and I could use it like a blade if need be. I had worked hard to hone that ability so that when I wielded it, it was like being cut with the sharpest knife. Mike was under the sun God, Helios’ power, able to manipulate light and fire. Thankfully, he was able to control what the fire burned and did not burn. With light he was able to shine light in the darkness, almost like a torch. However, it also provided him with the additional sense of clarity in that he was able to see things others could not through visions of the near future. He had no control over what he saw or when, bu
MIKEJason was one of the biggest assholes I had ever met, and sadly our uncle. We didn’t even consider him family anymore, not after what he had done to me. Being stripped of my Alpha rank wasn’t a big deal to me, Zach and I had made plans to co-lead, and nothing had changed that even with my superficial rank change. I was still an Alpha by birth, regardless of being Jason’s science experiment for pissing my father off. At the end of the day, he was a Beta and I was an Alpha. I had worked hard to keep myself in good shape, as Omega’s were typically much weaker than other members. He had altered my very DNA on a cellular level, so I had to work many times harder than normal. To say the least I hated him with every fiber in my being, clenching my fists I stared at him. As Zach had said he had no scent, but that wasn’t the most concerning thing. As I studied him, I noticed his eyes seemed, not quite
CECELIA Mike sure was scary, I didn’t think he knew how terrifying and yet glorious he looked as he channeled Helios’ power. His whole body was bathed in a low light, his blue eyes practically glowing with power. His red hair looked as if it were alive with sparks, glinting and changing colors as he moved. Blue fire coated his fists to his forearms, and it shimmered and danced as he walked toward us. Jason’s dead body behind him, he had done what he needed to do. His jaw was set and his eyes hard as he strode to where we were. His steps were purposeful, and I had never been so turned on by him, it was a shame we were fighting a giant, rotting corpse or I would give him the ride of his life. I sighed, turning back to said rotting corpse. Lance had changed back to his human form and charged on ahead, like the idiot he was, and had scaled the Gods legs and was currently hanging from one of the s
Zach was something to behold as he went to town, his black extensions snapping and squeezing the life out of the enemy. The wolves had stopped coming in as thick of waves as previously, they had slowed to a trickle as the men picked them off. Christian came up beside me, his wolf slick with a mix of his and the enemy’s blood. He sat back on his haunches and began to paw at his face, the blood clearly agitating him. I looked him over, checking for wounds. A deep gash was on his left flank, blood slowly seeping out of it, his nose had a cut across it and was bleeding freely, and there were several puncture wounds scattered throughout his abdomen. I didn’t want to know how bad it was, but I needed to try to heal him, glancing up at Zach I saw he was busy, he had told me to conserve my energy and while Christian was evidently alive, I didn’t need him suffering more than necessary.
I drew in a sharp intake of breath as I felt both Zach and Mike’s power snake through me, the shadows and light combining as one flowing into and around my power. Seamlessly melding with mine, bolstering it for the upcoming battle. Perses stared down at us, his decaying eyes ogling our group. We must have looked like ants to him, tiny specks to be squashed under his heel. His chapped and scabby lips parted, rotting teeth coming into view, and a blast of halitosis mouth hit me and almost knocked me backward. My stomach flipped at the sight of his half open mouth and the stench of it, and I was forced to turn my head away. Mike's big hand covered mine and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “Incarnation of Gaea, do you think you can stand against me?” The old God asked, his breath stinking like rot and decay, I could see black flecks spraying from his mouth
As the balls of spit and Lance flesh hit the ground I had to shield my eyes as they sparked, silver fragments shooting out of them. Perses let out a yell as they pierced his eyes and body, the silver shards embedding themselves deeply in his body. I watched in awe as the shard began to vibrate, Mike elbowed me, snapping me out of the trance. Jay and Christian were racing toward Perses now, neck in neck, in their wolf forms as Zach wound his shadows around the Gods ankles, causing him to falter in his steps. I saw Mike’s fire spin from his hands, engulfing Jay and Christian. My Beta and Gamma looked confused, then howled as they barrelled toward the God, winding around his feet and burning him. Mike smirked in satisfaction as the stench of burning flesh assaulted our noses. The flesh monsters had been mostly dealt with but a few still remained, however, they were not coming close to us so we focused on Perses. Leaving them alone but noting that t
Despite the fact he couldn’t see us I knew he could feel us, a point that was driven home as a giant hand slammed into my side; my body flying through the air. With a loud thump I hit the ground, the air driving out of my lungs with surprising force. Growling, I stared up at him. His dead eyes were now coated in black, gouged out and oozing his blood spattered the ground; hissing as it burned holes in the Earth. I dodged the blood for the most part, not wanting to become a cooked wolf; as I got to my feet hurriedly and darted in between his legs. An idea occurred to me to bring this disgusting giant to his knees and I snarled in delight. Circling so that I was behind his legs I focused on his ankles, his achilles heel; and began to rip into the flesh there. A howl of pain erupted from above me and I felt his feet move, trying to get away from my grip, his legs kicking. A blow to my side had me grunting as my teeth were forced from his heel, but
I heard the snapping of my bones before I felt it, Perses’ large hand squeezing my body tightly. I felt panic and rage flood through my bond with Mike and Zach , and the shadows slithered in between my skin and Perses hand, trying to pry us apart even a little bit. They did their work and I was able to draw a small breath in, feeling gurgling in my lungs from a punctured lung and the blood flowing into them. I was going to drown on my own blood it looked like, and wasn’t that just peachy? I heard Mike roaring and felt the warmth of his fire as he tried to burn Perses, forcing the God to let me go. Laughing darkly, Perses only squeezed tighter, and I heard Zach growl in frustration. Jay and Christian were closing in on him, aiming for his eyes again but Perses was having none of it as with a smack he sent them flying. Their yelps of pain echoed in the air. The pressure in my body was building as his hand got tighter and tighter, and my head
