Chaoter Twenty-four

It was only in the morning, while Anne got her children ready for school while simultaneously preparing breakfast that she realized Asher's request that his order be delivered to his office by eight was next to impossible.

To make matters worse, the twins were extra cranky that morning, and they made her work ten times harder. They would not eat, would not wear the clothes she brought for them and for some reason forced themselves to cry at every turn. At some point, she thought she would cry herself.

Her grandmother was no help. The older woman was still upset at her for the way she had stormed out of the house the previous day after her practically forced night at Asher's. She was offended Anne refused to give her any juicy information and Anne was not willing to deal with her childishness.

Tired but victorious at the end, she made it to the bakery by a few minutes after nine. She quickly got to work, furiously mixing pans and ingredients to make very quick but tasty cupcakes for
