Chapter 38: The Hunters

He blinked when he saw my expression. "Sorry, I was just amazed. This day had been a long day, let's rest?"

I suddenly pushed him away and the arrow struck the wall. We both turned to where it came from and saw a hunter up on the tree holding a bow while he had a bundle of bows on his back.

"They're here again." He whispered and followed with multiple curses. I summoned my bow and arrow and shoot the one who attempted to kill Dion. I ran to the window and found an arrow coming so I hide behind the wall. I load my arrow again and aimed the other one from the other tree.

Others started running away to escape. His guard had gone down to this level because of me, I killed a number of his army. They're not safe anymore.

I looked at him and he looked down avoiding my gaze.

"I feel weak, I feel useless. I cannot protect my pack anymore."

"Because of me," I added, he was ashamed that he couldn’t protect his pack anymore as how an Alpha should but missing
