Chapter 14. Lets Take A Walk

      I headed to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat when I heard Raine and her mom talking. Her mom mentioned a woman named Joceline. She must be the woman from the mall bathroom. I feel my stomach clench when Flo discusses Raine being careful and how she can't lose her. I walk in and just walk past them to the fridge. I inhale Raine's scent to help calm me down. The fragrance of lavender and honey engulfs me. She smells so good. I stand with the refrigerator door open, just breathing her in. Flo speaks first, "How are you doing, Luca?" "I'm good," I reply as I grab a bottled water and shut the fridge. I lean with my back against the counter, so I am looking at them both. Raine seems to have a blush on her face and seems like she can't look at me. I will have to figure out what that is about later, I think to myself.

       "Do we know anything about the people from the mall yet?" I ask them. Raine's face falls, and so does
