Chapter 51: Like a god

Gustav's POV

It was not the amphitheatre the next time I opened my eyes. There was no noise of cheering and hooting from a crowd. My eyes opened into a dark room. It was not the darkness of night. It was something darker. Like the darkness of hell.

"Where am I?" I asked no one in particular. There was no sound, no light, no sign of life; just an empty dark room.

The ground on where I stood was firm to be fair enough. At least, the place wasn't sinking under my feet. In a way, I was thankful I didn't have to face the bastard again. Ripping my heart out of my chest was not a scene I ever wanted to repeat the second time.

"Iris!" My voice echoed far into the length of the unknown room without a rebound. It was one hell of a large room, I assumed.

I raised my hands in the air, taking cautious steps to wherever I could feel a wall. But the longer I walked, the farther the imaginary wall I created seemed to be from reach. Soon, I felt my heart pulsing at a gradual thump.

"Isn't a wall here?
