"I was a drug addict, Brie." William looks at Brieanna and the look on her face didn't change. "Fed up with pleasing my parents, I am dumb enough to believe that Angel dust could fly you high enough to heaven. Obviously I was mistaken. I don't know how long I keep taking that until I just can't stop anymore. Then just one day I came home, I had no idea what had gotten into me. They said I dang choked my little sister, almost to death. It scared me so much, but I don't have the recollection of doing that."

"Is that why you are here? To stay away from hurting them?" 

He took a glimpse of her and saw the sparkles in her eyes. No idea what her eyes were telling him. He nodded. 

"Yeah. I just don't have the courage to face my sister yet. She probably hates me now. Without a doubt, I bet she thinks of me as a killer, a monster who tried to take her life away."

When Brieanna didn't say anything, he just wanted to leave the room. Just like she told
