Chapter 22

Abigail was pissed at not finding out any information from Silden. She was sure that Silden would at least give some inclination as to what her mother was up to.

Abigail understood Silden’s hesitancy at revealing any of Emerald’s secrets for she too feared her.

Abigail wracked her brain, trying to think of ways to find out what her mother was up to and who this ‘Leah’ was. But how would she find any answers when her mother and Silden both refused to speak about it?

Abigail knew that her mother kept a journal and she knew that it would hold gems of information that she so longed to know. But she knew that her mother would immediately sense that she had read it should she even try. There had to be another way.

Abigail entered her mother’s study, knowing that she was out on an errand. She knew that she wasn’t supposed to be in there without her mother present, but could no longer suppress her need to find answers about ‘Leah’. There most definitely had to be a clue in there somewhere. So
