Chapter 5 Enemies!

"It's okay, I don't mind. It's not like we are in a relationship." Kelsa replied with a sweet smile.

After helping Kelsa to her room, Mavis left. Realizing that she was all alone in her room now, it suddenly dawned on her that she's actually the most lonely person in this world.

She laid in bed and cried her heart out. It was obvious that he doesn't care for her.

She had been hospitalized for three days and yet, not even a single phone call to even check up on her at the hospital.

He didn't even bother to pay the bills. But upon her return, his fiancee had officially been accepted into the family.

She's coming to live with them from now on. Perhaps he brought her here intentionally to come and mistreat her.

This saddened Kelsa so much that she lost her appetite. She spent the whole day in her room without realizing that it was very late.

This was the first time she actually missed her father very much. She took her phone and called her little sister.

Immediately the call was connected, Lily happily said on the other end of the line. "Hey, middle Sis. I miss you so much. You promised to call me, but I didn't know you will be so happy in your new house in just ten days, that, you've already forgotten about me. You've decided not to even flash me. No problem!"

Upon not hearing her sister's voice after her lengthy talk, Lily realized something was wrong. She asked worriedly, "Kelsey, you aren't saying anything, are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm fine. I just miss you nagging, so, all I wanted to do was listen to you." Kelsa replied while wiping her face with the back of her left hand.

"How are you? How's Mum and elder sister doing?" Kelsa inquired.

"Everyone is fine, and she's also fine but just getting on my nerves, since you are no longer here for her to pick a fight with." Lily replied as she pulled her tongue out.

"I miss you guys a lot. I'll come and check up on you guys tomorrow or probably within the week. It's really lonely without you guys. Let Mum know I'll be coming home, okay? Also, be good in school. Come and visit me when you have time." Kelsa said to her little sister.

After chatting for some time, the two sisters bid farewell to each other over the phone and hung up the call.

After hanging up the phone call with Lily, Kelsa laid in bed and slept for a while. Soon, she had fallen into a deep slumber.

Later that night, Darryl returned from work, only to find out that Abigail had returned from abroad.

"Surprise!" Abigail Duke said immediately Darryl walked into the room.

"What a surprise? When did you return? Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I would have picked you up at the airport." Darryl said with surprise written all over his face.

"I wanted to surprise you. I've really missed you! Plus, I wanted to see that wife of yours." Abigail Duke explained.

"You are the only person I acknowledge as my wife, no one else." Darryl said in a pampering manner.

"You better do!" Abigail replied.

Another day quickly went by. Kelsa got out of bed and put on a new set of clothes.

She decided to carry on with her cooking habit as usual, since she was okay now.

The minute she opened her door, she was drenched from hair to toe with an icy water.

Abigail poured a bucket of cold water on Kelsa.

Abigail looked at her and smirked her lips, "Good Morning to you too! Is this the time you're supposed to wake up? My God, they're all spoiling you here. I'm very hungry, get me something to eat. Darryl drained me last night and I don't have the strength to do anything else."

Kelsa looked up at Abigail and then looked at her soaked self in disbelief.

She had been in a poor condition and had just returned from the hospital yesterday, and the first greeting she received this early morning was an icy water bath?

"I'm not a maid in this house. Also, please note that, Darryl and I are just married on paper with no strings attached. So, I would appreciate it if you treat me kindly." Kelsa replied.

"Kindness is for humans. You are a dog. My lap dog. Get to the kitchen and prepare me something to eat!" Abigail roared in response.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling well. I was just returning from the hospital when we met yesterday. I'm really sorry. Kindly get a servant to do it for you." Kelsa said.

She had previously wanted to cook for him, even though he did not deserve it. But his fiancee's rude behavior made her change her mind.

"Really? Darryl spoils me to the bream. Do you want him to find out that you refused to do what I asked you to. Care to try? Baby, baby!" Abigail shouted hysterically with every fiber in her.

Darryl immediately run out like a lunatic. "What's wrong with you?"

"It's this thing over here. I asked her to prepare something for me to eat because I'm tired and I'm very hungry already, but she refused. She said she is not feeling well and she's not a cook in this house. So, I should get it myself." Abigail complained with a sweet face like a baby, while pointing at Kelsa.

Looking at her innocent face, Darryl got profusely angry." If you cannot cook for my fiancee, then, you're not fit to be in this mansion, get lost! She's hungry, and make it snappy!" He barked his orders and walked out without even sparing Kelsa a single glance.

Abigail smiled mischievously. "I told you so!"

Kelsa laughed at herself and entered the kitchen to get to work.

After tirelessly preparing everything, Kelsa asked the maid to take the food to Abigail.

But before she could finish her sentence, Abigail shouted while walking down the stairs. "No need, serve the food on the dining table, I'm really famished."

Kelsa obliged, since she didn't want to be at the receiving end of Darryl's wrath. She served Abigail diligently as a maid would her master.

However, just after taking a spoonful of the dish into her mouth, Abigail spat out all the content in her mouth onto Kelsa's face. "What the hell! What crap is this? Take it out of my sight! I can't eat this. Prepare something else!"

"What is wrong with this food?" Kelsa asked.

"Oh, really? You don't see anything wrong with the food? Wait, I'll show you what's wrong with it." Upon saying that, Abigail grabbed the cup of hot tea and emptied it onto Kelsa's face.

Since the tea was originally hot, it burned her face and her chest.

Her face was hot with reddish blisters all over. She quickly wiped her face with the napkin she was still holding in her hand.

Kelsa began crying out of agony.

"Abigail, I don't know you and you don't know me. I don't think we've met before in our previous lives, so why are you doing this?" Kelsa asked with tears streaming down her face.

Abigail looked at her and smirked, "One word. Enemies!"

"What?" Kelsa asked in confusion, but before she could look up at Abigail, Abigail swung her hand across her face.

Slap!

"Are you dumb? I said you and I are enemies. Sworn enemies. If you want to live in this house, know how to behave well."

Kelsa quickly run into the kitchen and found fresh water to wash her face.

After that, she dashed upstairs and entered the guest room.
