Chapter 45

He spends hours by his father's bedside, hoping and praying for a miracle. The doctors are doing everything they can, but it's still uncertain whether his father will recover. As the hours turn into days, Charles feels his hope starting to fade.

After a few days, the doctors tell Charles that his father's condition has stabilized, but he's still in a coma. It's impossible to say when or if he'll wake up. As Charles grapples with this difficult news, he starts to feel overwhelmed by his responsibilities. He's trying to take care of his father and look after his dog, and he's still trying to find a job. He feels like he's being pulled in a million different directions, and he's not sure how he can possibly handle it all.

In the midst of all the stress and uncertainty, Charles starts to lose sight of his own needs. He's not sleeping or eating properly, and he's neglecting his own health. He feels like he has to be strong for everyone else, but he's forgetting to take care of himself.
