56. Shrimp

KEIRA:

"Keira," Alpha Lennox called my name a couple of times. "Why does his foul smell all over you? His scent is like rotten eggs that have been in the garbage can for a couple of days."

That bad?

Malik did not smell like that. In fact, he smelled of juniper. And it smelt nice.

"I want to make it clear but Malik does not smell like that."

He gave me a blank look.

I grabbed some pieces of french fries and ate them.

"I will wait," he continued.

Can you wait forever?

Nothing passed Lennox’s nose. That was what I realized when he dropped the bomb questions.

I had been discreet by trying to mask my scent by applying a strong fragrance of perfume but to no avail.

"You are thinking a lot, Lennox," I declared.

The fries tasted bland just like my lies.

"Why would I even meet him?"

He stared at me for a moment. "Was it you who sent the message?"

"What message?"

The only message I read was his message for Zoe. I didn't even touch Zoe's phone.

“Nothing." I thought he was about to drop
