Chapter 3

Adrianna White

My breath hitches as our eyes meet. His forest green eyes look eerily familiar.

I focus on my running, removing traitorous thoughts of the green eyed man from my head.

I increase my pace, running without stopping. I run until I see my house at a distance.

I run until I get to my house before hoisting myself up using the tree branch near my window, insteadd of the house door because I knew I'd be the entertainment of the night.

Besides, mum was too high to notice my presence or absence.

I wasn't in the right frame of mind to deal with her and her guests

In this mood I was, I could kill all of them without batting an eye. I stripped my clothes, settling on a sweatshirt and boxer shorts.

I jump on my bed still thinking about the events that happened today. I might not be sure of anything but one thing I'm sure of is that,"this is just the beginning".

The Italian Mafia won't just let me go like that. They would come for me and for some sick reason,I was waiting eagerly.

I remember the thrill I felt today. My adrenaline glands were alight.

Tomorrow is another day of work for me. Another day where I'd have to see the face of my coworker at the cafe.

He subtly hints on having something more but even after me shutting him down countless times,he resorts to harassing me.

During the day,I get shy and can't even tell him off properly. I hate how fucking timid I get in the day time when in the night I am a terror to behold.

I drown in my thoughts before falling asleep.

I wake up to my alarm blaring perfect by Ed Sheeran. I use that song as my alarm ring tone because I find it ironic.

I don't think I'd ever find anyone that's perfect for me or that I'll be perfect for.

I do my daily ritual, dress up in a tank top and baggy jeans with my side bag. I put in my brown contact lens.

I run down the stairs before taking a look around.

I shudder in revulsion before running out of the house.

Today I'll only be working at the cafe. It's a cute cafe. They mostly sell coffee and pastries but there's a section for books.

There are books you can even borrow to read. It was honestly so beautiful, homey and cozy. I fell in love with it at first sight.

I entered the cafe to see people already there. I hurried to the backroom to get ready for my shift and deposit my things. I saw my co-worker there.

Daniel has always had a thing for me and he's always made it obvious.

As I was about to enter,he blocked my way, reaching behind me to grab his apron.

For a minute,I felt his hand graze my waist. I tried to move out of his way but he leaned further in.

His hot breath on my ear and I felt myself tremble. He pulled back with a smirk on his lips.

I pulled my head up to see a crazy glint in his eyes. I felt myself shudder before gently pushing through.

"Good morning Daniel", I greeted meekly, still looking away from him.

I grabbed my apron before he could say anything and literally ran out of there. My tail between my legs.

I hate the way he treats me but I'm afraid to stand up for myself.

Standing up for myself would create unnecessary attention. I hurried to start my shift, grabbing my notepad and a pen.

I got to serving customers with a smile on my face, albeit a forced one.

I started collecting orders, serving food and cleaning tables.

I honestly don't know how the time flew. I thought time flies by when you're having fun.

Before I knew it,it was 5pm. I went for a short break at the back.

At this point, the cafe was practically empty. There were only a few customers left. I grabbed a milkshake,a croissant and an apple pie. My mouth, watering at the smell.

I hurried to the back to eat. I was starving. I was so engrossed in eating that I didn't notice anyone coming into the room until I heard the door click shut.

My back immediately stiffened and I stood up abruptly. I felt someone breathing heavily behind me.

I closed my eyes tightly.

I turned around to see Daniel gazing at me with a sick smirk on his face.

His arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

I clenched my jaw tightly feeling him run his lips across my neck. I don't even know when or how it happened but the psycho part of me reared her head.

I pushed him back before slapping him

. "The next time you think it's okay to harrass me you bastard,I'd teach you a fucking lesson",I growled out before sending him a tight slap.

I could feel his eyes widen in surprise. He was surprised but I was more surprised.

I stormed out of the room,my eye twitching.

I grabbed my notepad and pen. I continued taking orders.

I heard the door bell ring but I was too busy taking orders to look up.

I finally served the table and was about to leave when I saw the guy I stabbed from last night.

I walked towards him showing no reaction that I ever knew him.

"Hello, Welcome to Rosie's Cafe",I greeted cheerily.

The man's eyes widened and he began to choke.

I rushed to get him water,my eyes widening in panic.

He blatantly refused to collect the water from me and I felt myself start to grow annoyed.

I turn around to leave but as I turn,I bump into a wall or what I assume is a wall before I remember that there are no walls in the middle of the cafe.

I let out a wince rubbing my head softly before looking up to see…….

The green eyed man from yesterday.

Or should I say Lorenzo Demario.
