I don't know what I expected when I volunteered to accompany Lucy to find Devon. I just knew I didn't want to be away from her. For the first time since my human mate died, I felt like I could breathe again. Lucy was like coming up for fresh air. Like I was drowning and she saved me. Ellen POV When I told Victoria about the baby, she immediately made me take a dark magic to cleanse tonic and put me under a purification spell. I was awake but my body was paralyzed I don't know if that was what was supposed to happen but I felt stronger with Axel in the bed next to me. LUCYAfter Melody removed the dark magic from my body, I could feel Astrid sinking back to the recess of my mind. Whereas before, she was always on edge like she was on a tight rope and could slip at any time. I could feel her looming over me, over every decision I made, every emotion I felt.
