“Now we are alone Fraulein, I have some words of advice to part on you regarding Marianne.” Said Silas a few minutes after the door shut.

“Yes, Master” I said, trying to be as obedient as possible. “I would like to have as much help as I can get.”

“Look Fraulein, I only expect you to be so formal in front of Vampires and the sort. Things don’t have to be so intense when it is just you and I. Though I still expect you to watch your tongue and be obedient.” Silas’ tone firm but unusually soft.

“Alright, if you are sure.” I said, almost whispering as I wasn’t entirely convinced that it would be ok not to call him my master when we were alone. What if someone overheard?

“You worry too much.” He chuckled, making it past the barrier I had created between our minds; though I still didn’t know what he was thinking. He was much better at this than I was.
