Listening to Paige, protecting the human girl, fills me with pride. This is the person that the rest of our people don't see, the amazingly caring and selfless woman.

Leon grinned at me, "this is who she is meant to be, man. When this is over, we give her a normal life, enroll her in college, let her grow. I mean look at her, she fits with these people, other than us, these are the first friends she has ever had."

The seven of us all nodded our heads, Benny was about to say something when one of Leon's motion alarms went off, "it's from the forest, near where we lost the scent."

He brings the image on to the main screen. Six rogues come into view, they sniff the area and then wait, a few minutes later a group of rippers arrive. The two groups snarl and snap at each other.

A growl comes from just out of sight, and the rogues and rippers all bare their necks, A huge black wolf stalks towards them, making them cower.
