It's a little past midnight as I pulled my hoodie over my head and quietly sneaked out of my room and out of the house where the cold air nipped at my skin.

I shivered as I jogged across the field, feeling like a thief in the night, and crouched down behind a tree after ensuring that no other scents accompanied my own. I waited. After a while, the front door slowly opened to which I squinted forward and relaxed upon seeing my mate's head peeking out.
