The following day, Ethan took Meadow to the clearing to please Nightshade. He did not want the event that had happened to spoil their vacation. What Meadow had told him about Echo had also lifted his spirit; he believed that with the right amount of effort, Echo would come out. While Nightshade moved about the place playing, he thought of the attack. He hoped it was a fluke because he did not want to deal with trouble in his present condition.
