CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

"I don't want to hear anything you have to say. I thought you were the honest, hardworking kind. The type that knew the struggles that came with genuine passion and appreciated it. I thought you truly wanted to make a good change in this world but no. You're just like your kind. Greedy and eager to exploit the dreams of whoever walks in your trap."

Prince Lucas usually tried not to show moments of weakness generally but her words stung so much, he couldn't keep the pain out of his expression.

"I apologize if my words are a bit hard to swallow."

Prince Lucas felt she didn't really want to say those words but said them so he wouldn't feel so hurt.

She turned, giving him a brief whiff of her smell. It was a faint smell of cherry and even though he loved it, he couldn't bring himself to actually notice it.

The only thing he felt was the sting of her words.
