Trust and doubt

Avery’s POV;

I found myself wandering deep into the woods my mind wasn’t even mine anymore it was crowded with so much but somehow I happened to know nothing. The words of the witch Karl took me to kept replaying in my head, I was so deep in my thoughts that I didn’t realize how far into the Woods I’d gotten, it was then I started to hear the owls and the crickets in the dark.

The unseen creatures of the night come out to embrace their habitat, I tucked in a breath to try and listen with my wolf ears to see if I could somehow use my senses to bring her back, I focused on the wind as it blew on the trees, the sound of the crickets chirping and playing their familiar song that has been played over generations of their species. It wasn’t loud and explicit but it was enough until I heard a branch snap, every time I heard that noise I knew what came after it and me running from it right now was a very bad idea.
