Chapter 138

The last two days without Maya was boring. The day before yesterday, we went to meet and talk to her mother and it went pretty well. At least, I got to see my girl and her mother had promised to talk to her husband so he could tone down his anger.

I had just gotten back from my morning jog and was on my way to see aunt Amber. She hadn't been really well and that was the reason she had sent a driver to pick us up from the airport.

I knocked on her door and heard a soft come in from aunt Amber and I wouldn't lie, but she sounded like somebody that was dying. 

I pushed the door slowly and poked my head into the small hole, scanning the dark room for my aunt. My eyes made up a shape on the bed with her back against the door. She was covered under a duvet and she sniffled every once in a while. 

"Flip to the flops?" She said in askance and I cleared my throat before saying, "No, it's Cam."

"Oh." She sat up and blew her nose into a tissue paper
