Chapter 83
The warmth of sunlight caressed my skin and I smiled with my eyes closed, enjoying how waking up in the morning to being strong and healthy felt. I turned to face the door and smiled even brighter when I remembered today was the day Cameron would return.
Where is Maya? My subconscious asked when I noticed I was alone one the bed.
I opened my eyes and raised my head to look around the room. After sighting her body sprawled on the floor, I chuckled and returned my head back to my white pillow.
Suddenly, a deafening scream made it's way into my room–I jerked, my heart leapt into my throat. What had happened?
"No!" The voice sounded like that of my mother.
