Dinner date

VERONICA POV 43

"Can I take you out for a dinner tomorrow night?" he asked as he seriously looked at me.

I couldn't help but be moved by his question, but I didn't show it. I didn't agree right away because he might say I'm fragile. He had to convince me first.

"I'll see," I answered with a smile.

"You're not sure?" he asked me.

"I'll look at it, won't I? What did I say?" I asked.

"Just because I forgave you doesn't mean I will agree to whatever you want," I added.

"I'm sorry," he apologized.

"I'll go ahead now," he said.

I felt guilty for what I said, but I narrowed my eyes first because he might say I'm easy to get. I smiled because I finally felt better. I felt like a thorn was pulled out at that time.

I went back inside to ask Aunt Mercy about their life and chatted with them. I really miss them, too, because it's been a long time since we've seen each other.

I found them talking in the living room and they were obviously gossiping about me. I approached them with arms crossed.
