Chapter 53

JANE's POV

I stood. I felt a cold sensation down my spinal cord; it felt like I was gradually losing air.

“Sarah? You said those words to me? What did I do to deserve such hurtful words from you?

“Just stop trying to be my mother; you ain't my mother. All you have been doing since I got out of the hospital is telling me, “Don't do this, don't do that, don't eat this, no, don't drink that.” You want me to end up miserable like you.

Sarah left me and Jacob standing as she walked and went inside. I was too shocked to speak. Where did all that come from? Tears dropped from my eyes. I couldn't control the tears that rolled down my face. What has come over Sarah? She has never spoken to me in that manner before. Even when we had a major fight, she was always the one to apologize first, but this time, it was as if a demon possessed her. I couldn't recognize my friend anymore; she was the total opposite of the person I knew.
