Chapter twenty one

The funeral was held two days after Carella last saw Sophias' body at a near by cemitary.

The day was sunny. The perfect weather mocked them of their loss.

Carella stood among the people in full black next to Mark and all the people that came to see Sophia rest.

As the priste spoke, Carella couldn't help but wonder who might have done this. Sophia was never the kind of person that creates enemies or even upsets people. She had never done anyone wrong.

All Sophia ever knew was helping childern who had no homes and who had been abused by the system.

Gradualy, one by one, the people gave their condolences and left while Carella stood infront of Sophias' grave without speaking a word.

In the end, she got absolutely no answers more than a dead silence. She sighed in defeat and streched her white cane ready to go home and dwell just a little bit more.

Her slow steps were stopped by a thin voice calling out her name.

"Carella? Carella Jones?"
