The loud chirping of birds and the flapping of their wings woke me up from the uncomfortable slumber that had befallen me, it seemed like I woke up from a long dream and there were dried tears at the end of my eyes. My eyes shot in the direction of the tree that was just outside and I could see a pair of turtle doves on the branch.

The male bird doting on its mate, flapping its wings around, it was doing everything to make her happy. At first, I was so angry my nap was disturbed that the first thing I thought of was chasing the noisy birds away, however, it was beautiful to see the purest display of affection right before my eyes.

Turtle doves are said to be the symbol of friendship, loyalty, and eternal love, Julian in “Valentine’s Day” compared his affection for the heroine to that of a turtle dove, and thought that I would get to witness a dove speak in the love language it understands.
