“Is everyone gathered?” Ares asks the guard as we enter the palace of Alpha Malcolm. “Make sure they’re waiting for me in the drawing room.”

“What are we doing here?” I ask, but he doesn’t answer. He just clasps my hand harder. “This is the Alpha’s--”

“Home, I know.” He lets out a cond
