Chapter 14

The following evening after climbing out of my coffin and putting on a short, sky-blue silk robe, I sat down to my usual meal. As I picked up the first glass from the serving tray I spotted a note with my name written in bold letters across it.

Somehow I finished the first glass of blood without picking up the note. I tried to make it through the second glass but my curiosity got the better of me and I grabbed it, flipping it open to find:

Dear Marina, Though the days are growing shorter as winter approaches, the sun could not set fast enough this evening. You were on my mind and in my thoughts every second of every minute as the sun rode across the sky. Just by closing my eyes I could smell your scent, I could taste you on my lips, I could see the look on your face as I brought you pleasure. I feel a connection to you unlike any that I have ever known before. If you feel half of what I do Marina, then come to me. I'll be waiting for you. Love, Levi
