Chapter 25 Lost Dream

It's been an uneventful week for Amelia. After Vasili's surprise visit to Nevsky, no attempts have been identified. She was relieved at the same time anxious. Seeming to wait for the next thing to happen. It's grueling.

And today, another shift ended. Like any other night, Caleb and Cristy sent her to her car before going to their own. Caleb always drops Cristy home.

One thing she loves when driving at night is the bed of stars illuminating her way home. She loves the sparkling diamonds above her head.

And tonight has plenty of stars. Looking at them sparkling in the night sky eases the exhaustion she feels. It relieves the heaviness deep inside her. It comforts her hollowness.

She had endured the worst loneliness she is capable to feel for several years of being alone. She can't believe she could be this tough.

Too engrossed with her thoughts, she was startled by the loud screeching of tires against the pavements and metal clanking. All the noises tear her away from her careful dr
