22. Alone

"What do you mean? You're not playing a prank on me, are you? What do you mean disaster for me?" Jasmine asked, confused.

Anyone would be confused if they were not clearly told what was going on. If you only tell the point of the problem without telling the beginning of the problem, everyone will be confused.

Lorensius looked at Jasmine with pity. He didn't have the heart to continue. I wonder what Jasmine was thinking after Lorensius' explanation.

"Lorensius, tell me quickly! What would be a disaster for me?"

"For the next week, you will only have Jackson as your guest." Lorensius said honestly, but he dared not look at Jasmine. He knew he was wrong this time. He made a promise, and in the end, he broke it.

Jasmine got up from her seat and looked at Lorensius. Lorensius, who was being stared at by Jasmine, could not read that look. It was a look of sadness, anger, or something else. Lorensius could also see Jasmine, who was smiling.

"Sorry, I can't do much. I don't know how she came to be your guest." Lorensius held Jasmine's hand and apologized sincerely.

"Even if I'm angry with you, can you change it? I don't understand why God likes to play with my destiny so much." said a disappointed Jasmine.

"Can you let go of my hand?" Jasmine pleaded softly, almost silently.

Jasmine went back to her room and picked up her bag and jacket. Jasmine didn't mind the crowded living room. Her only thought at the moment was to calm down, or else she would have to meet her father.

"Where are you going?" Leah asked. For the first time, Leah asked Jasmine in a soft tone.

Jasmine just looked at Leah with a look that could not be interpreted. But Leah knew that Jasmine was currently emotional.

"Are you okay?" Leah asked again; she just wanted to make sure if her guess was wrong.

Jasmine smiled softly. "Do you care? Don't pretend to care about me." Her words made them all fall silent. None of them dared to interrupt or scold Jasmine. It was a look they had never seen in all the time Jasmine had worked there.

"I hope you don't come home too late." Lorensius, who had just come out of the kitchen, asked.

"It's my right; it's clearly stated in the agreement, so you have no right." Jasmine retorted, throwing away the vase she had managed to grab.

Lorensius didn't dodge; he accepted Jasmine's tantrum, which managed to hit him on the shoulder. "I know you're not a selfish girl. Have fun; I'll wait for you here."

"And I hope you die after this." A sharp gaze, full of anger and hatred, became one.

There was Leah as well as Anya, but neither of them dared to interfere. It seemed like Jasmine was in such a bad mood that they chose to stay away.

Jasmine's departure made Leah and Anya rush over to Lorensius. Some of them also took the first aid kit. Leah opened Lorensius' shirt, and Anya cleaned the remains of the vase that was stuck on Lorensius' shoulder.

"What's going on?" asked Anya as she applied alcohol to Lorensius' wound.

"You need to go to the hospital!" Leah cut Anya off.

As Lorensius' body was being carried by the bodyguards, she held back their hands. "Wait, there's something I want to talk to Leah about."

All of them who were there looked at Leah. Fearful looks all came out; they were sure that Lorensius would be angry at Leah. You could see how that murderous gaze was staring at Leah.

Lorensius walked over and grabbed Leah's cheek hard. He didn't care about Anya trying to pull his hand away. "Because of you, Jasmine is ruined. Because of you, Jasmine can't live a quiet life, and because of you, Jasmine is angry with me. Why didn't you warm up that man's bed if you liked his game? Why did you report all of Jasmine's activities to that man?" Shouted Lorensius, who pressed hard on Jasmine's cheek.

A bouquet of flowers was brought and placed on the tombstone. The usual smile was gone, just like when her mother died and her father was found guilty.

Jasmine, oh no, she meant Jesika this time came to her mother's grave. She brought a bouquet of black roses. Black roses symbolize resilience and strength. Jessika deliberately brought black roses just to let her mother know that she is strong and she can withstand this messy destiny.

The proof of her strength in this world started with the arrest of her father, which was followed by her mother. Now Jessika just needed to hold on a little longer, and she would be happy with her father.

"Ma, you have to watch my happiness from there. You can't be sad when I'm in trouble, because I don't want to catch up with you and leave dad alone in this world. We must go together. Wait for me a little longer." Jessika said it with a smile.

Jessika had never mentioned her troubles while working with Lorensius, and this time she did again. After being satisfied with the talk session at her mother's grave, Jessika left the cemetery and walked without direction.

Jessika's destination was unclear; all she wanted to do was get away from Lorensius and the club. She didn't want to go back there, and she didn't care what Lorensius' fate would be.

Walking without direction and not seeing traffic signs when crossing made Jessika angry at motorists. It's natural for those whose bodies and minds are not in the same place. Whether people are yelling at her or cursing at her, she will just ignore them. Just like Jessika's current situation.

It's really sad if you look at the girl. An empty mind and an empty stare. Not what she said at her mother's grave. This is completely inversely proportional to her words.

Jessika passed by the field; she just stared for a while, then she walked back. Just imagine when you walk a long way with hills. Right now, the wound on Jessica's leg is very obvious, but she doesn't want to stop.

"You idiot!" Someone who pulled Jessica's hand.

The man led Jessica to a bench not far from the field. "How much longer do you want to walk?"

"Until I feel no pain," Jessica replied with a smile.

"The pain won't go away; you'll feel more pain. Look at your leg!"

"It's nothing." Again, Jessica said something that did not match her feelings.

Unwillingly, the man pulled Jessica into his arms and won her over. "If you want to cry, I will protect you from all of them."
