“You made your decision,” Luthias said as he swept me into his arms and whirled around the room.

“I suppose I did,” I said, hesitantly, as I clung to him for fear of centrifugal force ripping me out into space. 

I don’t know what got into me to respond to Pierre’s angst about Gwendoline’s referral to Luthias as Lord Luthias the way I did.  He truly should be called Lord Luthias in Verso Land, so Gwendoline using that title made sense.  In my heart, I still hadn’t made up my mind who to choose, but my mouth chose even if my mind couldn’t.

When we finally stopped spinning, the joy Luthias felt overtook all else and he kissed me with a fervor; mindless of the fact that Gwendoline was still in the room.
