Khloe's POV:
The moon had risen.
Its deep red color filled the sky not too long ago and I could already see a difference in Nico.
I watched nervously from the couch, holding a pillow against my body as Nico quickly paced around the room with his gaze glued to the floor.
Nico had told me to stay there and to stay quiet, so that's exactly what I was doing.
The first effects of the blood moon were already beginning to show themselves.
His breathing was rigid and heavy and although I couldn't get a good look at his face, I was pretty sure that his pupils had turned to slits.
I was too afraid to make any kind of noise. I knew that their mindsets changed as they
Khloe's POV:I just stared as I tried to plan something that would work. Something that would just put an end to this.I knew that I had to do something, and I knew that I was going to get hurt.If I do something soon, then hopefully there will be a small chance that I'll make it out of this alive. And even if I don't...I shook my head. I couldn't start doubting.Getting killed was part of a pet's life. It was unavoidable, so I've known that this was going to happen for many years. At least if I were to die tonight, it would be in the hands of my own Master.I sucked in a shaky breath, every part of my body tel
Nico's POV:Everything was chaotic within my own body. A sensation that no vampire, no matter how old they were, could get used to.Something about the Blood Moon did this to us, enhanced our senses enough that it almost made us go insane. Our bodies would run on our deep-rooted instincts, making even the almost silent humming of a lightbulb sound like a blaring siren. Not to mention the immense pain that ran through our entire bodies for no reason other than to make us give in and let it take over.Once it finally did we had barely any control over what happened until it began to get the blood that it craved. These instincts were supposed to keep us alive yet all they did was make us suf
Nico's POV:I quickly stood atop the window sill, pressing my fingertips against the glass window. My eyes glanced around outside, looking out for any signs of immediate danger. The vampires that didn't have possession of slaves or pets would have to resort to looking outside the castle to find something to satisfy their hunger.Unfortunately, it wasn't easy, every human in the city hid themselves. Even the animals stayed hidden, which normally meant that either the Vampires out here would break into their houses, or feed on each other. The latter was more common due to it reasonably just being easier and more efficient.A vampire dying from blood loss was practically impossible, our advanced healing a
Nico's POV:Hours had passed and Khloe's condition had been steadily improving.Thankfully.My worry for her had almost completely diminished, and I think her own worry for herself was already gone.Surprisingly, she hadn't asked any of the questions that I knew she had about this night.Even though it was late and I could tell that she was tired, I knew she had them as she always did.Although, I guess she was pretty occupied at this moment.I turned my head towards her, watching as she curiously observed one of my wings. She had taken a huge interest in them ever since she woke up.
Khloe's POV:I was alive. That whole idea was so weird to me.I actually survived a blood moon. Not only that but everything that came after that was weird to me as well.I looked up as Nico hung up his call, setting the phone down on the desk where it always sat.I debated asking him what the call was for since I was too deep in my own thoughts to pay attention, but decided to stay quiet.I had been quiet ever since we woke up, and well, so had Nico. For some reason, things just felt weird between me and him.I'm not really sure if he felt it, but I for sure was fee
Khloe's POV:There was a noticeable lack of pets at the dinner table.I tried not to think about it too much until I finished my food.Nico told me that I had to eat to help me feel better faster, so I wanted to hurry and do so before the reality of what happened to all of them could hit me.So many of them were gone, just overnight. Like a massacre. And no one but me seemed to be too bothered about that.Sometimes I forget that this was a common occurrence for every vampire in here.As far as I know, all of the pets that were here yesterday morning will be replaced with new ones by tomorrow."So I guess 7 was t
Khloe's POV:"It's snowing," I said quietly, eyes growing wide as I stared out the window.I watched as the small white flakes fell soundly as the sun set behind the mountains, mindlessly setting down my sketchbook and sitting up onto my knees. It had been so long since I had seen this sight, I had forgotten how much I loved it.It was just so calming, watching each snowflake slowly fall to the earth."Really? Already?" I heard Nico say behind me.He was beside me within seconds, setting his hands on the window sill near me as he leaned forward towards the window.I put my hands near the window, feeling the cold air that came through it as Nico's eyes scann
Khloe's POV:When I woke up, there were only two things that first registered in my mind: that it was too early for me to be awake, and that Nico was moving to get out of the bed.And apparently part of my brain decided that the latter wasn't ok and decided to quickly wrap my arms around his arm before the reasonable part of my brain could fully wake up.He stopped moving once I did, which surprised me enough to make me open my eyes a little bit.The first thing that I noticed was the small amount of light visible through the curtains on the window, showing the sun was just barely beginning to rise.My groggy eyes then shifted up to Nico. He was just sitting on
