Confusion filled Nevil's mind. He was secretly being hunted by what happened in the past, as he saw Acheron standing next to him now. He's so shocked when the council's head announces his return. And when he saw him after so many years that Acheron was gone—that he was thinking he really did die—he couldn't help but feel shocked and confused.
